Adelaide City

Adelaide City.

Clear

Wine country to one side and beaches to the other, Adelaide City is an easy-going destination that charms, every which way you turn.

A refreshingly laid-back city with all the perks of urban living, Adelaide has well and truly shaken its small-town vibes to emerge as a city that loves to live life on a global scale. Surrounded by wine country and a breezy coastline, there are so many things to do in and around Adelaide. But before you set off on an adventure that’s sure to delight, take a moment to explore the wonders of Adelaide City itself.

Neatly contained in a grid of tree-lined streets, Adelaide City is easy to navigate by foot, bike or tram. One of the top places to visit in Adelaide City is the fashionable East End. High-end boutiques and art galleries sit alongside on-trend cafés and restaurants that champion global eats, while iconic pubs and intimate wine bars keep things rolling well into the night. And although Rundle Street and Ebenezer Place are the hotspots of East End, Peel and Leigh Streets are just as thriving with new bars and artisan outlets. For more head-turning fashion, though, head over to King William Street.

Adelaide’s West End takes on a different feel with the famed Adelaide Central Markets. The markets are booming with fresh produce from nearby farmland, making it a great place to visit in Adelaide, especially if you’re a foodie. Right outside the markets, Adelaide’s Chinatown is another foodie hotspot for dishes jam-packed full of authentic flavours hailing from China and South-East Asia.

Framing all of this is Adelaide’s Park Land, a lush green space that loves to entertain with sporting fields, botanical gardens, and the big tourist attraction, Adelaide Zoo. Plus, there are walking and cycling trails that run throughout, and there are plenty of shady spots to spread out a picnic rug. And if you time your visit right, you’ll get to see Adelaide at its finest with Adelaide Fringe Festival, WOMADelaide, or when the cricket and AFL are in full swing.

Adelaide Hills

Sip and swirl your way around Adelaide’s wine country

Rolling countryside tamed by vineyards and award-winning cellar doors, Adelaide Hills is a standout for its cool climate wines, hatted restaurants, and fresh farmgate produce. Year-round Adelaide Hill’s is a gem of a place to visit, but the falling leaves of autumn are a real crowd-pleaser. Our advice? Stop by Stirling, a quaint town with all the charm that embodies this region.
