About the area

Coolum Beach is a little slice of paradise on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, easy-going, sun-drenched and brimming with year-round summer vibes. Recently crowned Queensland’s Best Beach for 2025, Coolum is celebrated for its world-class surf break, pristine coastline and welcoming community spirit.

This beachside haven blends laid-back village charm with an exceptional selection of Coolum Beach holiday rentals, making it the perfect destination to unwind, explore and experience the best of coastal living.

Patrolled year-round, surfers are out chasing the perfect wave from the break of dawn, while swimmers and beachgoers enjoy the safe, inviting waters. There's even a dog-friendly area at the north end for four-legged holidaymakers. The boardwalk that hugs the foreshore offers uninterrupted ocean views, and the large beachside park is perfect for families, with playgrounds, picnic spots and space to relax.

Whale watching is a must from June to November — head to Point Perry Lookout for the best vantage point along the coast. And just inland, Mount Coolum National Park offers an invigorating hike rewarded by spectacular 360-degree views across the hinterland and sea.

The village itself is a treasure trove of local boutiques, relaxed cafes and stylish restaurants. When you're ready to explore further, Noosa is just 15 minutes north with its renowned dining scene and designer shopping.
Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or an extended stay, there's a wide range of holiday rentals in Coolum, including spacious holiday house rentals for families or groups. With direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Auckland via the nearby Sunshine Coast Airport, getting here is as easy as settling in.

Great townhouse very close to the beach. Loved that you had all the beach gear to use. Cabana, chairs boogie boards, esky ect. Perfect for someone who loves the ocean

Good value for money, great location Positive: Cannot beat the location. Just two doors up from the Coolum Surf Club and all of the shops. It's an older apartment with a plenty of room for two people, a very wel stocked kitchen, very comfy beds, air con and heating, great WiFi, very good smart TV, free parking spot on site, washer/dryer. Very nice arrival packet and gift cards. We have twice stayed there. Big frige, good kitchen. Love that there's a toilet and shower on the ground floor, especially handy when returning from the beach. This is in addition to a full bathroom upstairs. Lots of amneities and beach accessories. The furniture on the the balcony is very comfy. Negative: The only thing the flat needs is new furniture on in the downstairs. Part of the couch is worn down and the dining set is uncomfortable. That said, if you're out a lot or if it's a shorter stay you won't care. The downstairs lighting also could use an update.
