This extraordinary escape in the heart of the Byron Bay hinterland is named after the “Goddess of the Dawn,” Aurora House captures the first light of day and the serene glow of sunset, promising an unforgettable holiday experience.

Perched high on St Helena Ridge, this enchanting home comfortably accommodates up to 16 guests across four beautifully designed bedrooms and additional Pod. Each room exudes comfort and elegance, providing a peaceful retreat after a day of adventure. The master suite boasts a luxurious four-poster queen-sized bed and a private ensuite, while the second room features a delightful queen-sized bed. The third room includes a queen-sized bed, a private powder room, and an additional queen-sized pull-out sofa bed. The upstairs loft is the perfect escape for families, offering two king-single beds and a queen-sized bed. The Pod has its own master suite with queen-sized bed, with stunning private ensuite with a bath tub and shower, and a separate sitting room with pull-out double sofa bed.

Built circa 1881, Aurora House is one of the area’s first homesteads, meticulously restored to blend old-world charm with modern luxuries. The property offers unique amenities, including two bespoke outdoor baths, a full-size copper soaking tub, an impressive outdoor fireplace, and a Scandinavian indoor wood burner. Enjoy the stunning 20m x 5m pool with a separate pavilion, all set against a backdrop of spectacular hinterland and ocean views.

Situated on St Helena Ridge at McLeods Shoot, this private, gated estate is just a 10-minute drive from downtown Byron Bay and 8 minutes from the chic village of Bangalow. Aurora House boasts panoramic 360-degree views, with sea vistas stretching towards ocean shores, Mt Warning, and Lennox Head, all complemented by the lush, rolling hinterland.

The estate spans 52 acres, blending farmland and rainforest. From spring-fed dams to the crest of St Helena Ridge, there’s plenty to explore. The property is a working farm and home to ancient forests with 150-year-old fig trees that create natural cathedrals. Immerse yourself in the best the northern rivers of NSW have to offer. Please note there is no laundry facilities at the moment, however there are nearby laundromats and we can offer a door to door laundry service.
